“Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another…” Hebrews 10:24-25
The Christian Education Committee at St. Andrew’s is encouraging everyone to participate in the “Gems of Encouragement” program. Take some time to consider how you can be an encouragement to someone in your life this week.
You may feel called to say something or do something encouraging for a member of your family, for a colleague at work, for a friend at school, for a stranger that you meet, or for a sister or brother in Christ. Every time you say or do something encouraging, you are invited to place a gem stone in the glass jar at the front of the church. If you do many acts of encouragement during the week, keep track of them and place that number of gem stones in the glass jar when you come to church on Sunday.
We hope to fill up the glass jar with “Gems of Encouragement” by Thanksgiving Sunday (Oct. 9th). And then we’ll have a little contest to guess how many acts of encouragement have been completed.
