On November 18th, we welcome guest preacher, The Rev. Dr. Ross A Lockhart, Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Missional Leaderhip at St. Andrew’s Hall. Ross has authored books on such topics as Missional Theology, The Trinity, and St. Patrick. Working alongside Rev. Dr. Darrell Guder at St. Andrew’s Hall in Vancouver, Ross has been instrumental in bringing Missional Theology to the fore of the PCC. Ross promotes the idea of Missional church as congregations not focus on their own needs alone, but rather living as “sent people” that are dedicated to witnessing to the Gospel in the world. We are delighted to have Ross in our midst to teach us more about “being the church” for Christ.
A quote from Rev. Lockhart:
MISSIONAL CHURCH
The most important part of a service is not the sermon; it’s how we send people to be a witness for Jesus Christ in their world. Missional leadership is less about being a personal trainer to meet people’s needs but rather to equip them to go out into the world and be the church.
Please join us on November 18.
