After 97 years of Christian ministry in Saskatoon, Parkview Presbyterian Church is closing its doors. The church began as Mayfair Presbyterian Church in 1911, and was the only Presbyterian congregation in Saskatoon that voted not to enter the union in 1925 that formed the United Church of Canada. Shortly after the vote against union, Mayfair began to grow rapidly and the congregation decided to move to a larger building. They set up their new church on Avenue E overlooking the park, and renamed themselves, “Parkview Presbyterian Church.”
You are welcome to join the Presbytery of Northern Saskatchewan and the people of Parkview Church for their closing worship on Sunday, October 5th at 4:00 p.m. This is a very difficult time for the people of Parkview, so please keep them in your prayers.
