There are many special events being planned by the Saskatoon Anti-Poverty Coalition during the week of Oct. 16th – 23rd for Poverty Awareness Week. Some of these events have already happened, but it’s not too late to get involved.
Community Supper @ Mayfair United Church (902 33rd Street) – Wednesday, October 20th, Registration at 5 pm, Supper 6pm – 9 pm.
Empowering Voices – an artistic gathering in the core @ St. Mary’s Parish Hall (211 Ave. O South) – Thursday, October 21st, 7pm – 9 pm.
Hands Across the Water – A silent march to acknowledge that poverty spans the whole city. Join us to link hands in a show of solidarity @ the downtown end of the Broadway Bridge – Friday, October 22nd, 5:50 pm rally call, 6 pm event begins.
Feel free to park at St. Andrew’s if you are planning to join in “Hands Across the Water” on the Broadway Bridge. Let’s show our support for those living in poverty in Saskatoon.
